My Year 7 Blog
23/11/2007In September 2007, on my first day at william Brookes School I was very nervous and excited because I’m that kind of geeky guy who usually finds it hard to make friends. Luckily I made friends very fast and know I have more friends than I did at my old school. I may be the butt of other people’s jokes but that doesn’t bother me because if you ignore them they stop. Simple as that. Me and the rest of my form spent our first lesson getting to know one another. Then we had a PE lesson where we were told which PE group we were in and what we were going to be taught in PE. I was in a PE group with my two of my friends (neither were in my form) and our first PE lesson was going to be swimming (which is great as I am a really good swimmer). I really did well in swimming (even though the teacher put me in the wrong group). On the 17th September 2007 I was playing football by the sports hall and the ball went into the tennis courts so I tried to fetch the ball pushed the metal gate by the pavilion too hard and as I ran past the gate it flew back and hit me in the face. This gave me a black eye, a split lip, a trip to hospital and, best of all two and a half days off school. I’m back know and better than ever. My favourite subjects so far have been: ICT, PE, Maths, History, French, and Science. My favourite teachers so far have been: Mrs Ellison (French), Mrs Hughes (Maths), Mr Parkes (Science and P.E) and Mr Crook (ICT).
I’m slightly concerned about how the people who are going to rebuild William Brookes School (in 2009-2010) are going to handle it. If they demolish everything at once our education will be ruined because our revision time for our KS3 SATS and GCSE’s will be drastically shortened.
